There are four components to an academic research paper:

  1. Introduction
  2. Body
  3. Conclusion
  4. References

There are seven components to a scientific paper

  1. Title
  2. Abstract
  3. Introduction
  4. Methods and materials
  5. Results
  6. Discussion
  7. References

There are four components of an abstract:

  1. What is the research about (objectives)?
  2. Why is your research important (purpose)?
  3. How was your research done (methodology/approach)?
  4. What will you present (significance/ so what).
