These databases contain medical books which will help with basic information and background material for your assigned disease. Searches in these databases will be demonstrated in class. 

Assignment- Things You Need to Find

When searching for your assigned disease or disorder, you will need to find the following:

  • Definition/etiology/history and risk factors
  • Incidence and prevalence
  • Signs and symptoms
  • Course and prognosis
  • Diagnosis, how it is diagnosed
  • Medical/surgical management
  • Impact or effect on occupational performance

Requirements: 

  • At least one source must be an evidence-based journal article.  A librarian will show you how to find one while in class.
  • Additional sources may come from a combination of journal articles, books and eBooks, reputable medical internet sources, and organizational literature. The librarian will show you the best resources to use.
