Mediums for housing and sharing information is growing and changing. One way in which this is influencing academic institutions is the growth of Open Access (OA) resources that range from written material, music, images and art, films, and other mediums that traditionally fall under copyright. Under open access these pieces of creativity are made available on the web to end users for free.
This is a great tool for academic institutions because it offers us a greater scope of resources to use. OA journals are becoming popular for liberation from fee structures that are peer-reviewed, scholarly content.
