The One-Button Studio is under construction.

Expected opening: Unknown. We will notify the community in an email blast once it is open for use.

One-Button Studio Guidelines

  • The studio may be used for one-hour with the opportunity to extend it up to three hours, if not busy.
  • The studio is available on a first-come-first-serve basis. 
  • Reservations can be made up to 24 hours in advance, Monday-Friday at the service desk. Reservations can be released if the patron does not arrive after ten minutes of reservation time.
  • The studio can be used by an individual or group up to eight people
  • The recording studio closes an hour before the library closes. 
  • Students are expected to behave professionally in the space and with the equipment.
  • No food or drinks is allowed in the studio.
  •  Any work saved on the computer will be erased upon logging off.

Terms of Use

  • LSC-Kingwood Learning Commons reserves the right to decline any video studio request for any reason.
  • The One Button Studio may only be used to produce videos for lawful and educational purposes.
  • The One Button Studio will not be used to produce or create materials that are:
    • subject to copyright, patent, or trademark protection,
    • in violation of intellectual property rights,
    • prohibited by Lone Star College, local state, or federal government,
    • unsafe, harmful, dangerous or poses an immediate threat to others,
    • obscene or inappropriate for educational institutions,
    • extraneous (videos that will take several hours) to produce.
  1. Check in at the Service Desk. An LC staff member will unlock the room.
  2. Set up the space for your recording needs. 
  3. Practice your presentation.
  4. Insert a flash drive into the USB port. The flash drive should have enough free storage to save your video. 1 GB = 15 minutes of recording.
  5. The studio lights will turn on.
  6. To start, press the button. Recording begins after a few seconds of delay.
  7. Do your performance or presentation.
  8. To stop, press the button.  Recording stops and the *.mp4 video file is processed and saved to the flash drive.  A notification will indicate when this is done saving to the flash drive.
  9. If you are done recording, remove the flash drive and the lights will power off.
  10. If you are not done recording push the button and recording will begin again.
  11. Let the LC team know that you are done with the room.
  12. If needed, use Adobe Premier or Movie Maker to edit your video.
