Initiatives & Travel Funding

Purpose

Lone Star College-Kingwood is committed to supporting the professional growth of its faculty and staff by providing funding for conference or training session attendance and travel. This funding supports Professional Development (PD) that enhances teaching, learning, and institutional effectiveness, ensuring employees bring back valuable insights to benefit the campus. This guide outlines the eligibility criteria, funding policies, application process, and funds management process.

Eligibility

  • Who Can Apply? – Full-time LSC-Kingwood, Atascocita Center, Process Tech, and East Aldine Center adjunct, staff, and faculty members.
  • What Can I Do? – Applicants may receive funding for one conference or campus-based initiative
    per year, with a maximum limit of $3,000.
  • How Can I Do It? – Coordinate with your supervisor to ensure service or classroom coverage before submitting a funding request for travel-related activities.

Calls for Applications Announced via email
Submission Period August to early September
Application Requirements Complete the application and provide clear goals aligned with LSC Focus or Faculty Qualities of Excellence (FQEs)
Submission Process Depending on your funding request, complete either the application for conference or event travel or the application for campus-based initiatives
Award Notification Applicants, supervisors, and business managers will receive funding decisions via email in September
