Before You Begin

Think about who might collect data. Why are they interested in the results? Do they stand to profit off the results? Data is commonly collected by government agencies, businesses (both privately owned and publicly traded), non-profit organizations, and researchers. All of these entities have a goal when it comes to collecting and presenting data. Be conscious of what that goal might be! Use the resources below to help determine credibility.

  • Household appliances and the housing market as indicators of the current US economic environment
  • US economic factors and exercise equipment 
  • Pricing of electricity and effects on American consumers and industries
  • Effect of increasing gas prices on sale of electrical vehicles in the US
