Students are automatically enrolled in STAR Bundle each semester with the option to opt-out. Once registered for the upcoming semester, the bookstore will begin bundling required course materials.
On or before the first day of class, students will be able to access their digital materials through D2L and pick up their physical course materials at the designated STAR Bundle pickup location for their home campus.
The cost is included on student's account and calculated at $21 per credit hour regardless of how much each individual textbook costs.
Students do NOT need to return physical books at the end of the term. Physical books are owned by the student. Digital materials may expire-check expiration dates in the bookstore eLibrary account.
****Students who do not wish to participate in the program can opt-out through their Student Homepage on the Textbookx website or on their STAR Bundle bookshelf, which can be accessed via D2L by ODR date for long semester. If students received physical materials as part of STAR Bundle, they will need to return those items back to the location they picked them up. Students will be charged for any materials not returned by the third week of class to their student account.
NOTE: Students should have received an email titled: Welcome to the STAR Bundle Program! There is a teal colored box in that email entitled "Manage participation and view Course Materials here" Click it . It takes them to their Bookstore homepage where there is a large Blue Box which allows them to opt out of the program.
****STAR Bundle is digital-first. If a student prefers physical books, they can opt-out and purchase materials directly from lonestar.textbookx.com.
****NOTE: IF a student chooses to opt out---100% refunds will only be issued 3 days from ODR(first day of classes-8/25/25). On 8/28 refunds go to 70%.
1. Check their course material list at lonestar.textbookx.com to see format types and pick up location.
2. Check their Lone Star College email for digital access information/instructions. Depending on the item, materials will be accessed through D2L or a publisher' website.
3. Pick up their physical materials at designated locations. STAR Bundle Pickup is in the CLA Building at LSC-Kingwood Campus.
