This guide was created to help students and staff learn all about the Seed Library in the Learning Commons; Winter 2021.

Ferry Morse Basil Sweet. Care and Maintenance Instructions.

Ferry Morse Basil Sweet care and maintenance instructions from package. It takes roughly five to ten days to germinate. Herb should be planted at a depth of one-fourth of an inch. Spacing between the plants should be at least ten inches. The herb will grow to a height of about eighteen to twenty-four inches. The are four planting times depending on where in the United States of America(See image above).

It is recommended to start seeds indoors, six to eight weeks before the last frost. Sow in open ground well exposed when soil is warm. Thin when plants are a few inches tall. Transplant to garden after frost. Harden off before transplanting.

Ferry Morse Chives Package

 

Ferry Morse Chive care and maintenance. It takes between fifteen to twenty-one days for the herb to germinate. Herb should be planted at a depth of one-fourth of an inch. Spacing between herbs should be six inches. The Herb will grow to a height of about eight to twelve inches. There are four planting times depending on where you live in the United States of America.

It is recommended that you start seeds indoors, six to eight weeks before the last frost. Sow in open ground well exposed when soil is warm. Thin when plants are a few inches tall. Transplant to garden after frost. Harden off before transplanting.

 

Ferry Morse Dill Mammoth care and maintenance instructions from package. It takes roughly seven to fourteen days to germinate. Herb should be planted at a depth of one-fourth of an inch. Spacing between the plants should be at least nine inches. The herb will grow to a height of about thirty to forty-two inches. The are four planting times depending on where in the United States of America(See image above).

It is recommended to sow directly in the garden in well-drained soil in a sunny location. Performs best in rows nine inches apart. Thin plants to nine inches apart when they are 2 inches tall. The seeds can be harvested when the lower part of a seed cluster is ripe.
