HyFlex allows faculty to make course content available to students who are unable to attend class in person and still maintain the traditional face-to-face classroom for those who are. Part one focuses on foundational understanding of AI writing patterns and common indicators of AI assistance. 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Introduction to Social Annotation and Its Pedagogical Imperatives Presented by Remi Kalir, Associate Director of Faculty Development and Applied Research, Duke University This session provides an introduction to the concept of annotation as an everyday literacy practice. We will explore how annotation can be used to enhance learning, foster meaningful discussions, and build community within the classroom. Participants will explore strategies for incorporating social annotation into their courses. The session will highlight two key pedagogical imperatives: careful reading of the course syllabus and meaningful discussion of course readings.
