The Things They Carried - Tim O'Brien: Literary Criticisms

Beginning Your Research

As you begin your research, think about what most moved you in the novel.  At the same time, skim through the essays available in the books on reserve and in the databases to see what scholars have written.  As you develop your thesis, you will need to find supporting evidence.  When you read something you think you might use, be sure to keep a record of the source as well as a copy of the material itself.
