Kingwood Learning Commons One Button Studio

Getting started

  1. Check in at the Service Desk. An LC staff member will unlock the room.
  2. Set up the space for your recording needs.
  3. Practice your presentation.
  4. Insert a flash drive into the USB port. The flash drive should have enough free storage to save your video. 1 GB = 15 minutes of recording.
  5. The studio lights will turn on.
  6. To start, press the button. Recording begins after a few seconds of delay.
  7. Do your performance or presentation.
  8. To stop, press the button.  Recording stops and the *.mp4 video file is processed and saved to the flash drive.  A notification will indicate when this is done saving to the flash drive.

Finishing up

  1. If you are not done recording push the button and recording will begin again.
  2. Remove the flash drive and the lights will power off.
  3. Shut down the computers.
  4. Turn off the projector, blue/green light, and ceiling light before leaving.
  5. Return the dongle to the LC Team to be checked back in.
  6. If needed, use Adobe Premier or Movie Maker to edit your video on any of the LC computers (the laptops do not have Adobe products). Do not use the computer in the studio. There is no video editing software on it.
