This guide was created for Dr. Ashley Brinkman's Summer 1 tech writing online class.

Requirements

Requirements

• MLA formatting, including Works Cited page

• Title

• Research: Cite AT LEAST TWO CREDIBLE sources

• One-paragraph introduction (This should reveal your intended profession and explain that the purpose of the report is to describe how AI is affecting your chosen field)

• One- or two-paragraph background/information section (This should describe the career field and its expectations, including current trends and required job skills/responsibilities.)

• A two-or three-paragraph discussion of AI’s current and future role in the field. Question to consider include: What skills are going to become more/less important as AI takes over? How might job descriptions and day-to-day work change because of AI?

• One- or two-paragraph conclusion that sums up your findings and explains how you plan to prepare yourself for these changes as you think about entering your chosen field in a few years.

• Annotated AI transcripts. When you chat with AI, it’s important that you keep a record of your dealings with it, annotating what ideas you need to check, what you plan to revise/work with, and what doesn’t work for you. AI cannot be your only source. If you are using material from AI, you need to revise it.

. • Remember: you must complete all your work for this project, from start to finish, in a Word Document, so that I can see your revision history. You should provide the link in the comments box when you submit your essay.

Tips for Research

• Use the library resources

• Make sure to use legitimate industry websites

• Look at job postings to see if they mention AI
