Venetian Museum

The research method of case study is the in-depth analysis of an organization, situation, event, person, group, etc. For the purposes of this assignment, you will complete an in-depth analysis of a museum in Venice, Italy. Use the research method of case study to analyze and evaluate one of the following museum’s uses of technical communication to share Venice’s heritage (artistic, cultural, and/or natural) with both local and global audiences:

Questions to Consider:

  • What is the history of the museum? What is its mission?

  • How does the museum leverage digital platforms to expand access to global audiences (e.g., virtual tours, online collections/exhibitions, social media)?

  • How does the museum engage in storytelling onsite/online to highlight Venice’s heritage?

  • How does the museum create accessible and inclusive content using subtitles, translations, audio/visual descriptions of objects (e.g., paintings), and so forth?

  • Does the museum use immersive technologies such as virtual reality to promote visitor engagement onsite/online?
