Citing Primary Sources (Chicago Manual of Style)

In the field of history, Chicago is the most common style of citation used, therefore, the following guidelines and examples show how to cite primary sources using Chicago's note-bibliography system. Please be sure to check with your professor to make sure which citation method they want you to use for their class.

Please link to LSC-Kingwood's and LSCS Libraries' guides to Chicago or MLA for help with citing secondary sources. Use our Chat/Email link for help from a LSCS Librarian.
