How to find statistics from credible sources

Before You Begin

Think about who might collect data. Why are they interested in the results? Do they stand to profit off the results? Data is commonly collected by government agencies, businesses (both privately owned and publicly traded), non-profit organizations, and researchers. All of these entities have a goal when it comes to collecting and presenting data. Be conscious of what that goal might be. Use some of the resources below to help determine credibility.
