The task.
Visit the Wikipedia page for the 1990s. Read through it and begin finding a 1990s topic that catches your eye. You can focus on any event, person, or cultural movement you want. Your topic can be broad or narrow. Go down the Wikipedia/Internet rabbit hole.
Once you’ve settled on something interesting, start researching it in the library. Find 3 sources from the library resources that teach you about this topic.
Read them and compose an Annotated Bibliography with a reflection, which include the components below. Look at the sample to help with formatting.
Requirements:
MLA formatting
Write a 300-word introduction to your topic, explaining what it is. Reflect on your new knowledge gains, why you chose the topic, and if you think it’s relevant today. This should be very conversational; do not write at a formal level.
A bibliography of three sources. Summarize each source, following our usual format. After each summary, in a separate paragraph, explain in 100-150 words how this contributed to your knowledge. (Write personally and conversationally.)
A 300-word reflection comparing and contrasting your experiencing with Google/online clicking with your library experience. What was the difference between the sources. Having seen the differences first hand, why do you think professors prefer you to use academic, library-based sources over online ones?
A short list, including Wikipedia, of online sources you looked at/consulted, as you did the project/came up with ideas.
You may use quotes in the introduction and reflection, but not in the bibliography.
