Cristina Martinez

Cristina Martinez is a Mexican-American spoken word artist who first fell in love with writing in elementary and has been writing since. Her spoken word work has been featured on We Are Mitú and HuffPost Latinos. Cristina has had the privilege of competing in Red Stick Regional Slam, Red Alert, and Southern Fried Poetry Slam in 2018. She has performed with Houston’s Public Poetry at Public libraries, TheT.R.U.T.H. Project at M.A.T.C.H. Houston, an installment at Station Museum and a cast member for a staged reading entitled Just Like Us by Karen Zacarías at Stages Theater, and an actress in a play entitled The History of Mexicans for TEATRX theater company.
