Down Time at the LC Service Desk
- Check for updates in the Learning Commons Manual.
- Clean your station with Lysol wipes. Wipe dry with paper towel. (Custodians are short staff and appreciate any help we can give them.)
- Clean high traffic student areas with the Lysol wipes. Wipe dry with paper towel.
- Vacuum or “dust bust” crumbs, bits of paper, etc. in student areas. There is also a pan & brush to pick up crumbs quietly. Bits of trash can also be picked up using the grabbing tool. All cleaning tools are located in the Workroom.
- Cut slips needed for ID station, printing website, WConline website.
- Check the ID Stat book for loose Nursing or other WorkForce forms. Update the student’s information in WorkFlows and shred the form.
- Cut up used ID ribbons and dispose in trash.
- Check the "Left in printer" folder at the Tech Station. Often there is a date on the paper. If dated older than two weeks, please shred or dispose. At the end of the semester, the “left in printer” folder should be emptied.
- At the Tech Station, when you help a student figure out a difficult tech problem, add/share to the Daily Troubleshooting Log.
- Try to become more familiar with programs students use in class (photoshop, premiere pro, etc.) if possible.
- Check lost and found. Bring valuable items to the Student Services lost and found.
- Clean headphones and calculators carefully (do not soak in liquid.)
- Clearing calculators. Calculators not powering? Check to see if the batteries are inserted correctly. You can use the battery tester before changing batteries.
- Replenish areas of Learning Commons needing Lysol wipes.
- Replenish PPE supplies in container on wall at entry of Learning Commons.
