Trouble clocking in or out:
Clocking in and out is done at the LC Service Desk, (not in the parking lot, not in the breakroom, etc.) Example: If your shift begins at 9am, you must be ready to help students at 9am.
Sometimes the power, the internet, or iStar is down. Let the LC Desk Supervisor (Anne) know so that she can clock you in and out when the power, internet or iStar services are restored.
Be mindful of the time. Often students will stop you in the foyer and ask you a question as you are walking in for your shift. It is okay to tell them you will help them as soon as you clock in and direct the student to the Service Desk. Similarly, another colleague may be having a conversation with you while you are in the breakroom during your break. If your break is ending, you will need to politely break off the conversation in order to clock in at the desk on time.
Clocking in and out is your responsibility. With such a tight budget, there is no wiggle room for early or late punches. This means clocking in and out at the assigned shift time. However, if an extraordinary circumstance occurs, you can contact your LC Service Desk Supervisor (and time approver) regarding the situation ASAP. Repeated missed/late/overly early punches will result in a disciplinary write-up. This is a system-wide policy and it is VERY important.
