Currently the only issue we are having with the laptops from the kiosk is not being able to log in/connect to wi-fi. Remember, sometimes turning the laptop off/on will fix the problem.
UNABLE TO LOG IN
This is generally an easy fix.
- Have student log on using the ethernet cable set up at the podium outside of the Tech Help station at the Service Desk.
- Verify that the student is using/ typing their LSC user name and password correctly. The user name is their LSC email address. For students it will end in @my.lonestar.edu.
- If neither of these steps work:
- Note the laptop's number (KC-LT-L100-##) and email Allison. Please state the problem in the email.
- Instruct the student to return the laptop to the kiosk. Make sure the student answers the prompt about a problem with the laptop. Have them check out a new one.
BLACK SCREEN
- Press the Power Button to turn the laptop on.
- Try a hard reboot by holding the power button down for a minute until the HP logo appears.
- If it does not turn on:
- Note the laptop's number (KC-LT-L100-##) and email Allison. Please state the problem in the email.
- Instruct the student to return the laptop to the kiosk. Make sure the student answers the prompt about a problem with the laptop. Have them check out a new one.
LOST THE USE OF THE TOUCHPAD
Double-tap the top left corner of the touchpad to turn it back on.
